Olive Kitteridge

Opening Sequence

The 4-part HBO miniseries Olive Kitteridge is a portrait of a quirky, complex character portrayed by Frances McDormand. The story spans about 25 years of her life in a rugged but quaint coastal town in Maine. For the opening titles, we wanted to capture a sense of the unique place, the passage of time, and the characters in Olive’s life. Every image draws its meaning from the story and characters, flowing together in an impressionistic sequence that brings us into the beautiful, sometimes turbulent world of Olive Kitteridge.

This sequence is nominated for Emmy’s 2015!
